We’re big fans of the Shop Local and Buy Local ethos but when it comes to buying computers, can you buy British? Is that even possible anymore?
We recently needed a new PC and wondered if it was possible to locate a Welsh manufacturer. No such luck. However, we did find that there are still excellent British companies designing and building great systems. After much research and comparison, we found Chillblast based in Poole. We talk to Marketing and Communications Officer, Louise.
How long has Chillblast been established?
Chillblast started out in 2001 as a specialist importer of niche over-clocking products before moving into the more exciting field of building fully custom PCs in 2011. We are now proud to be the UK’s most awarded manufacturer and four time winner of PC Pro’s Excellence Awards.
How many people do you employ?
We currently employ thirty people.
Are all the computers British made?
While many retailers outsource their PC building to other firms rather than test and build them in house, all our PCs are built at our manufacturing facility in Poole. Every Chillblast PC is built by a highly qualified system engineer and goes through a series of strenuous testing procedures to ensure quality.
What sets you apart from other companies?
