All too often, as publishers, we receive press releases from people telling us someone new has been appointed, moved up, shifted across etc.
Rarely do we receive a release telling us how brilliant someone has been and how hard it’s going to be to replace them when they leave.
So we’re taking this opportunity to say farewell to our trusty distribution man Garwyn Evans. Garwyn has worked with us for several years and has been conscientious, trustworthy and a happy-go-lucky member of the team.
Garwyn didn’t want to go, and we didn’t want him to go either. A knee operation several months ago just hasn’t given Garwyn the result he was hoping for, and continuing to lug 10kg boxes of magazines was only going to make things worse. In the summer, he bravely tried one last time (delivering Vale Life) but his knee just wasn’t up to it.
Fortunately, Garwyn has moved on to pastures new that don’t require such sturdy knees and is very happy. Unfortunately, for us, he has given us the job of replacing the irreplaceable.
Garwyn, we salute you. This one’s for you. Respect.
